Boston suspects had planned July Fourth attack, official says

Alleged Boston bombers Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and his late brother, Tamerlan, were apparently planning to carry out a suicide-bomb attack on July Fourth.

According to a law enforcement official, the brothers switched their plans and targeted the marathon when their homemade bombs were ready ahead of schedule, choosing the marathon only a day or two before the event.

There are no details yet about this alleged original plan, but if their evil hearts were set on attacking Boston, some say the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular could have been the target. With more than 500,000 people expected to gather at that event, the suspects could have wrought even more massive destruction, and their diabolical deed would have been broadcast on national television.
