Lionel Messi Wins FIFA World’s Best Player Award for Record Fourth Year After 91 Goals in 2012

The Argentine and Barcelona attacker has been in blistering run of form this past year, breaking a number of records, Barcelona’s all time highest goal scorer in the league and in all competitions, surpassing Gerd Muller’s 47 year old record as the highest number of goals scored in a calendar year with 91 goals for both club and country.

Just to mention a few, the diminutive attacker has done it again, surpassing his Barcelona team mate Andres Iniesta and Real Madrid attacker Cristiano Ronaldo, to win the prestigious Ballon D’or award.

This makes him set two different records; first player to ever win the accolade four times and also the first player to win the award four times in a row. With Lionel Messi winning this award, remarks are going round that he is the best footballer of all time.
