Let’s Do 2012 Recaps: Events of the Year (Part Two)

Hello there,

This is the continuation of where we stopped the last time……..let’s go there:

 

Lee’s Monthly Birthday Party (M.B.P)
Lee’s M.B.P is a monthly birthday party for celebrities  born in a particular month of the year, who have contributed immensely to the society to come together under one roof to party.
September and October’s editions were combined on the 27th of October 2012 @ XQL club victoria Island Lagos, which was hosted by Cool FM’s “Shine” and Gamed Up Tv’s “Say”,these talented duo added spice to the party as there was no dull moment.

 

Stand Up Nigeria
Bunmi Davies, the producer of “Stand Up Nigeria”, took the show to another level as he  acclaimed Nigeria’s king of Comedy, Atunyota Akpobome aka Ali Baba on May 12th 2012, for the special edition of the show tagged ‘The Deluxe Edition’. Put together to mark the 12th anniversary of ‘Stand Up Nigeria”, it will feature Ali Baba and three other Nigerian comedy greats Okey Bakassi, Basorge Tariah and Port Harcourt based Yibo Koko.

 

Seyi Law’s “Lagos Must Laugh”
Seyi Law, a Nigerian Comedian, staged his first comedy show at the Muson Centre Lagos, on New Year’s Day, 1st January, 2012.
The show was headlined by Seyi Law who was later joined by Mc Shakara, Emeka Smith, Elenu, MC Acapella, Akpororo, Pencil, and loads of other dynamic comedians on the star studded lineup. Musicians billed to perform the first songs of the Year.
Lagos Must Laugh with Seyi Law was the first of what would be an annual train of comedy tour. “Akure Must Laugh” followed immediately in February, “Abuja Must Laugh” in April, “London Must Laugh”, and “Manchester Must Laugh” also in April, “Washington Must Laugh” in July, “Accra Must Laugh” in November, and by December 2012, “Port Harcourt Must Laugh” will come up.

 

AY Live, Lagos 2012
Known for trail-blazing comedy shows Ayo Makun popularly called Ay, this year’s AY Live was tagged “AY LIVE LAGOS INVASION CONCERT”, the event held on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012 at the Expo Hall of the prestigious Eko Hotels and Suites.
Anchored by AY, the event showcased rave of the moment artistes including Wiz Kid, Ice Prince, Tiwa Savage, Brymo, Samklef, Naeto C, David O, Gordons, Chuddy K, KC of the defunct KC Presh fame, Jedi, Elenu, I Go Dye, Emeka Smith, MC Shakara, Okey Bakassi and Helen Paul.

 

Jimmy Jatt ‘Jimmy’s Jump Off’
African Premium DJ – Cool DJ Jimmy Jatt  shut Lagos State (a.k.a Lasgidi) down with the Summer Edition of his Annual DJ Concert ‘Jimmy’s Jump Off‘.
This year’s Special Summer Edition was bigger and better with loads of surprises and performances by Top Nigerian Artistes and Top flight Djs from Radio to Club and concert Djs.
The heavy weight list of DJ’s include; DJ Waxxy, Dj Xclusive, Dj Neptune, Dj Humility, DJ Spinall, Dj Caise, Dj Sose, Dj Tony Blaze, Dj Xgee, Dj Snoop da Damager and Dj Big N.
All roads led to Get Arena, Lekki, for this year’s edition on July 1st 2012 by 6pm.

 

MTN Lagos Fashion Week 2012
Nigerian fashion has metamorphosed from being merely cultural to a way of life. A whole new generation of fashion designers, music artistes, fashion creative and fashion’s taste makers have made it desirable to be seen wearing clothes made by Nigerian designers. This influence has gradually seeped out and is being represented on runways around the world.
Venue was EKO HOTEL, VICTORIA ISLAND.
