Sir Olateru Olagbegi Foundation Brings Hope Alive

The 2012 edition of the yearly Sir Olateru Olagbegi Tennis Invitational takes center stage this December, 12th-15th in Akure, Ondo State capital. The tennis invitational that features top 16 seeded Nigerian Players is a yearly top rated tournament on the calendar of Nigerian Tennis Federation. The tournament is powered by Sir Olateru Olagbegi Foundation (SOOF), a non-governmental organization committed to facilitating collaborative initiatives positioned to promoting volunteerism and development of Tennis amongst youths, through collective involvement in reaching out to the deprived in the Nigerian society.
In a press release to the media on the activities of the foundation for 2012, the President of the Foundation, Prince Olakunle Olateru-Olagbegi  re-instated the factual principle behind the foundation’s absolute support for Tennis in Nigeria, saying, it is entrenched in the values of stewardship and leadership to the Community and the Nation as exemplified by the enigmatic Monarch Sir Olateru Olagbegi II KBE (Late Olowo of Owo), who promoted a legacy of community development through sports and healthy living.

Also, the spokesperson for the Foundation, Prince Adesola Olateru-Olagbegi, added that SOOF 2012 activities will feature the usual tennis coaching clinic for kids and top 16 seeded Nigerian players.

Prince Olakunle Olateru-Olagbegi urges Private/Corporate Organizations to support the cause of SOOF while thanking those who have been on board: RT Briscoe, Ondo Government Ministry of Youth, Sport and Development, Nile Inc. (USA), Dynalux Paints & Chemical Company, Metro Insurance Brokers and other individuals.
