The famous Nollywood actor turned politician, Hon. Desmond Elliot has recalled how he started off as ‘waka pass’, earning N500 per movie while starting off his acting career.
The 43-year-old Lawmaker who represents Surulere Constituency at the Lagos State House of Assembly revealed this while motivating Students during a professional forum at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), Ogba Lagos.
He said: “My Mother waited for three years, hoping to see a movie I would feature. She always say to me that ‘Desmond’, you go out and come in, NO film, NO money!
“In year 200/2001, I usually feature as ‘Waka Pass’ in movies where I get paid N500 before I went to an acting School and became a professional actor. Who says there is no space? ‘Na lie o’. To be successful, you must learn to work hard”.
