Nollywood big celebrities, as well as other notable dignitaries, would converge on Friday, the 22nd, in style for the premiere of “Wives on Strike: The Revolution”. The highly anticipated movie which is a fusion of family, drama, and comedy has set in motion the minds of movie fans towards its release.
Omoni Oboli’s premieres have always turned out to fantastically wow the Nollywood industry as stars usually storm the venue en mass. The first “Wives on Strike”, in 2016, at its premiere had in attendance notable celebrities such as, Kehinde Bankole, Uche Jombo, Monalisa Chinda, and many others. Her romantic comedy movie, “The First Lady” premiered in London, United Kingdom, and in Nigeria in 2015. Omoni was roused with a standing ovation at the premiere of “Being Mrs. Elliot” in 2014. “Okafor’s Law”, despite not being able to screen the movie, the premiere went on to be one of the most memorable premieres ever.
Speaking with Omoni Oboli on “Wives on Strike: The Revolution” premiere, she said, “I am as eager as everyone out there to see Wives on Strike in cinemas. Out of all the movies I have produced, ‘Wives on Strike: The Revolution’ stands out for me. I am positive this will be the best movie in 2018.”
Beautiful songstress Chidinma is the voice behind the soundtrack of “Wives on strike”, titled “Gone Forever”. The soundtrack was written by Omoni Oboli, performed by Chidinma Ekile, and produced by James Adeyinka Adebunmi.
The movie, “Wives on Strike: The Revolution”, which is a family comedy follows up on the chronicles of the women’s fight against domestic violence, after one of them was beaten to death by her husband. This leads to yet another strike by the women against their husbands, forcing their hands to stand up for what is right.
Wives on Strike features super talented actors such as Omoni Oboli, Ufuoma McDermott, Uche Jombo, Kenneth Okonkwo, Julius Agwu, Chioma Akpotha, Toyin Abraham, Chigul, Simply Saka, Odunlade Adekola, Sola Sobowale, Elvina Ibru, and others.
Omoni is the only Nollywood producer who has had back-to-back box office hit with four movies consecutively with movies such as, “Being Mrs. Elliot”, “First Lady”, “Okafor’s Law”, and “Wives on Strike”. Her movies are known for all round successes, grossing in millions of naira. “Wives on Strike: The Revolution” is set to hit the cinemas come December 29th, 2017.
