Fans have attacked Genevieve from all corners after the Nigerian actress posted a good will message to the victims of the France attacks, according to them; she has always kept quiet whenever a tragedy occurs in the country but always speaks up when something happens abroad.
Following yesterday’s attack on citizens in Nice which left at least 84 killed during Bastille Day celebrations, Genevieve shared a photo of France’s national flag with the hashtag, PrayForNice.
‘Father into thy hands I commend their spirit. #prayforparis #prayforjustice,’ she wrote along with the photo.
This didn’t go down well with many of her followers, who asked that the gesture be replicated for victims of terror attacks in her country, Nigeria.
‘Coming from a lady I respect so much, I’m startled. Until we begin to love this country, it won’t get better. Yes you have right to post whatever, but where lies your loyalty,’ a concerned fan wrote.
Another wrote, ‘I’ve always liked you Genevieve but you are an icon here in Nigeria, you don’t post shit about what’s going on in our country, the struggles Nigerians are facing, you haven’t addressed shit. Nobody said you shouldn’t post about Paris but what about your own country. #disappointed.
