Egypt and Saudi Arabia have announced plans to link both countries by building a bridge over the Red Sea.
The announcement was made yesterday by Saudi Arabia’s King Salman who is on an official five day visit to Egypt.
Although the idea of building a bridge between both countries has been brought up severally, it is the first time an agreement has been reached.
King Salman said, “I agreed with my brother his Excellency President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi to build a bridge connecting the two countries”
“This historic step to connect the two continents, Africa and Asia, is a qualitative transformation that will increase trade between the two continents to unprecedented levels”
