28 year old Chelsea midfielder, Mikel Obi has been named the new captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Following the exit of former Super Eagles captain and long serving goal keeper, Vincent Enyeama, Ahmed Musa was named Super Eagles captain by Sunday Oliseh.
However, the new Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia has handed the captain’s hand band to Mikel Obi who is now the team’s longest serving player.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have two stern fixtures coming up and will hope to triumph over Egypt as they seek for the Africans cup of Nations.
