Lekki Gardens Management Accused Of Negligence As Death Toll Rises In Building Collapse

Criticism has been leveled at the Management of Lekki Gardens, the company in charge of Lekki Gardens estate following a deadly building collapse yesterday.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has confirmed that 26 people have died with 40 people feared still trapped beneath the rubble.

The Cable news reports that the Lekki Garden management decided against professional advice to add two floors to the structure.

Cable news quotes Adelaja Adekanbi, vice chairman Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB) as saying “All the work that has been done here is nothong to write home about; it’s work that was done under no supervision, under no professional engineer or builder,”

There have been reports that the Lagos State Government has declared the management of the Lekki Gardens company wanted.
