Costa Strikes At The Death As United And Chelsea Ends 1-1
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Diego Costa is not a name many Manchester United fans would want to hear for a while and quite frankly Memphis Delay didn’t earn himself any praise.

Chelsea’s position at the lower end of the table and Manchester United’s recent struggles somewhat transformed what was once a crunch encounter into a battle of “has beens”.
Nevertheless, today’s Barclays Premier League encounter at Stamford bridge was entertaining.

Manchester United started brightly in what turned out to be an entertaining affair but despite their early dominance, the first half ended goalless.

In the 61st minute, United broke the deadlock through Jesse Lingard and the match looked like it would stay the same and gift Manchester United their first win over Chelsea since 2012.

However, fate and Daley Blind had other plans as Diego Costa capitalized on an error from the Dutchman to draw Chelsea level in the first minute of stoppage time.

Manchester United were left to rue what might have been as the result sees their title hopes slip into the realm of dreams.
