Social network, Twitter, has announced that it has closed 125,000 accounts with links to Terrorism.
In an increasing effort to crack down on terrorism as promoted by social media.
All the suspended accounts were found to be promoting terrorism mostly relating to ISIL as more terrorist groups use Social networks to recruit fighters.
“Like most people around the world, we are horrified by the atrocities perpetrated by extremist groups. We condemn the use of Twitter to promote terrorism,” Twitter said in a statement released Friday. It also promised to “engage with authorities and other relevant organizations to find solutions to this critical issue and promote powerful counter-speech narratives.”
