World number one Serena Williams continued her strong start to the 2016 season with a comprehensive victory over world number four Agnieszka Radwanska at the Australian Open.
Serena powered into the semi’s on the back of yet another comprehensive defeat of Maria Sharapova at the Quarter finals in straight sets.
The Semi-final match seemed to continue in the same fashion, with Serena winning the first set 6-0. Radwanska was to fight back in the second set, but was unable to do enough to force a third set to leave end the match at 6-0, 6-4.
After the match, Serena said, “For sure I thought it was going to be a really rough part,” Williams said. “I mean, I never thought I was going to go out and lose in the first round, but at the same time, I never thought before, I’m going to make it to the final or anything. I was just playing literally a point at a time.”
Serena Williams will now face Angelique Kerber in the Australian Open Final match after Kerber defeated Johanna Konta in the second semi-final encounter 7-5, 6-2
