Gunmen shot 12 people at the office of a the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in France today. The attack took place in Paris, the capital city.
Speculations are quickly linking the attacks to a cartoon the magazine recently put on its Twitter account making fun of ISIL leader Al Baghdadi.
This is the second time the magazine is coming under attack, following an attack in 2011 when the magazine ran a caricature of the Prophet Mohammed.
French President Francois Hollande told reporters;people were “murdered in a cowardly manner”, “We are threatened because we are a country of liberty”.
Four of the magazine’s cartoonist’s were killed in today’s attacks and witnesses report that the attackers screamed “Allahu Akbar” as they engaged police in gunfire before making away in a hijacked car.
