The remains of wife of late Obafemi Awolowo, Hannah Idowu Dideolu Awolowo is presently being buried at her hometown in Ikenne, Ogun state.
In what could be call an epoch making burial that has many of Nigeria’s decision makers in attendance as the likes of former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Governors Ibikunle Amosun, Rauf Aregbesola, Abiola Ajimobi, Mallam Nasir-El-Refai, Rochas Okorocha and a several of the nation’s leading politicians breaking the political party animosity for the burial, with many of them stepping out in HID Awolowo imprinted ankara aso ebi.
According to reports, this is the record dignitary attendance in the history of Ikenne town. The date for the burial was fixed for today, a day that was suppose to be HID Awolowo’s 100 years on earth. She should have ranked among Nigerian’s centenarians.
