Rexx had Ayomide join him to review Wande Coal’s ‘Wanted’ album on ‘The Drop Spot’. Ayomide is a music critic and Senior Associate at pulse.ng (if you know popoffcentral.com then you absolutely know him).  He thinks ‘it’s not a classic album but it’s a very good album’. While Rexx would have expected a ‘ power-ballad’ from the combination of Wande Coal and 2face who he described as ‘our Classic men’, Ayomide felt the song, ‘Make you mine’ was ‘not bad’.

‘There must be something going on between Wande Coal and Burna Boy’. Ayomide and Rexx agreed on this synergy which was evident in the songs , ‘Amorawa’ and ‘Wanted (rmx)’. For ‘Kpono’ which features Wizkid, ‘it didn’t just feel right for’ Ayomide. He has ‘always had a problem with Wande Coal and Wizkid’s collaboration. Maleek Berry, Sarz, Legendury beatz, Xela, Jayfem, Beat Frekz and Leriq were described as ‘ a singer’s dream’ but that Maleek Berry should have ‘ochestrated the production better…’

No song on the ‘Wanted’ album seemed to tell Wande’s 6-year story since the last album, ‘Mushin 2 Mohits’. Meanwhile, ‘there were way too many tracks’, 23 tracks including 4 skits asides the fact that the album had no story or theme. Wande Coal got his Art kicked, reset and hugged during this review on Metro 97.7fm. Rexx and Ayomide touched on everything including Don Jazzy’s conspicuous absence from the ‘Wanted’ project. Listen here or watch the video to find out their final rating of the album.
