The former National Security Adviser, Dasuki Sambo who is facing charges of illegal arms possession has had his motion for medical leave approved by a federal High Court.
Dasuki’s counsel,Joseph Daodu, had prayed that the court grant his client a three week leave for medical check up, which was made impossible as his international passport had been seized. The prosecutor, Mohammed Diri argued that the court should reject Dasuki’s request.
The trial judge, Adeniyi Ademola, ruled in Dasuki’s favor after deciding that the prosecutor did not adequately prove why Dasuki should not be allowed to proceed on medical leave and ordered the immediate release of Dasuki’s passport.
