Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood has become the latest BPL managerial casualty as the club announced that they have parted ways with their head coach.
His sacking comes on the back of six consecutive losses in the premier league as Villa lost yesterday to Swansea.
The club’s website stated “Aston Villa Football Club has parted company with manager Tim Sherwood today. The Board has closely monitored the performances closely all season and believes the results on the pitch were simply not good enough and that change is imperative”
The club thanked Sherwood for “his efforts during a difficult period”. Aston Villa lie in 19th position with only one win this season.
Kevin MacDonald has been named interim manager while the club searches for a permanent replacement. Is it too early to cast a glance at Brendan Rodgers?
