The National Assembly and state house of assembly Elections petition tribunal sitting in Jos sacked a member of the Plateau state House of Assembly representing the Langtang South constituency.
Mr Vincent Bulus, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had his victory petitioned by the APC candidate, Mr. Peter Azi.¨
The chairman of the tribunal Justice O O Akeredolu, delivering judgment said, “The respondent, having been convicted of an offence involving fraud and dishonesty by a court of law, was not qualified to contest the election into the Plateau State House of Assembly to represent Langtang South constituency.
“That the election and return of the first respondent as member of Plateau State House of Assembly to represent Langtang South is a nullify.”
The tribunal then ordered fresh elections.
