The ethics committee of world football governing body, FIFA, has recommended a 90 day suspension for FIFA President, Sepp Blatter and UEFA President, Michel Platini.

FIFA Presidential candidate Chung Mong Joong has been banned for six years and is facing a $103,000 fine, putting paid to his chances of succeeding Blatter.

FIFA general secretary, Jerome Valcke is also facing a provisional Ban.

79 year old Blatter has been at the helm of affairs in FIFA for years and has continually been dogged by allegations of corruption.

Through the years, Blatter has stood firm and refused to resign. He finally announced his retirement this year after investigations were opened in the U.S.

Regardless, he has remained as FIFA President until elections hold in February 2016.

The Swiss justice department opened a criminal investigation two weeks ago, alleging that Sepp Blatter made a “disloyal payment” to UEFA President, Michel Platini.

Sepp Blatter’s counsel claims that Blatter has not been notified of his suspension. It is unclear whether Sepp Blatter will continue as President after his 90 day suspension.
