Former Rivers state governor, Rotimi Amaechi has sued the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as well as well as the Rivers state chairman of the PDP.
In a libel suit filed at the Federal High Court in Abuja, he named Felix Obuah, the PDP as well as two other persons for claiming he operated a foreign account.
Rotimi Amaechi is demanding 300 billion dollars in damages after claiming that his reputation was smeared with allegations that he had embezzled 80 billion naira while serving as governor of Rivers state.
The Wike administration has set up a judicial panel to prove alleged financial inproprieties during Amaechi’s tenure.
Amaechi has refused to appear before the panel.
