Twenty years after hollywood actor Will Smith saved the planet from aliens in Independence Day, the two-time Oscar nominee is considering rescuing the country from an even more imposing threat: Donald Trump.
During an interview that aired on CBS, the talented actor confessed that he has ambitions far higher than acting. “I think being the biggest movie star in the world, as a goal, actually was too small,” Smith told the tv network.
Expanding on the revelation he came to four years ago, Smith said, “I realized that the dream was too small . . . I realized that there was no way that I was put here just to be a movie star.”
And with Donald Trump terrorizing the early stages of the 2016 presidential campaign with outlandish statements that are somehow earning serious poll support, Smith seems open to trading Hollywood for Washington, D.C.
“If people keep saying all the crazy kinds of stuff they’ve been saying on the news lately about walls and Muslims,” Smith said, referring to Trump’s proposed Muslim ban, “they’re going to force me into the political arena.”
Asked what political position he would aim for, Smith specified, “I mean, I gotta be the president. Come on! What else would I run for?”
