Thousands marched yesterday in Moscow, Russia, to protest the killing of opposition leader and Putin critic, Boris Nemstov.
Boris Nemstov was shot four times in the back on Friday and there’s widespread belief that the Kremlin has a hand in Nemstov’s death. He was a vocal critic of the war in Ukraine and opposed Putin’s decision to back separatists there.
Russians came out enmasse carrying portraits of Nemstov with some hoisting banners with the words, “I am not afraid”. Supporters marched past the Great Moskvoretsky Bridge where Nemstov was shot and killed.
Thousands of supporters also marched in St. Petersburg with numbers estimated to be around 50,000. Mr Nemstov was planning a rally today to protest the policies of Vladmir Putin.
