From Nsukka, Enugu State, Nigeria, the University of Nigeria Press and the author, Bura-Bari Nwilo are proud to offer the debut non-fiction work from Bura-Bari Nwilo. DIARY OF A STUPID BOYFRIEND will be hitting bookstores everywhere from 1 October 2014.
DIARY OF A STUPID BOYFRIEND is a compelling tale, informative, how-to reach out and catch some fun time in a relationship instead of grieving from misunderstanding. It is highly hilarious. It is focused on some of relationship’s common mistakes and it takes a comical outlook on what should be done, using Nwilo’s experiences. One may call him a feminist or still, a satirist. The characters, especially that of his great-grandfather comes into picture as a wise and witty one, also the good girlfriend.
“Diary of a Stupid Boyfriend” is almost out of Nwilo’s generation of regular prose, by way of novels and short stories. It is preserved in an arcane balcony, reminiscent of Achebeian essays, yet simple and lucid. There is the aura of a stand-up comedy in it that makes you think of pouring the writings into an audio CD for every earpiece of the younger, bachelor or spinster generation.
Jeff Unaegbu – Author of Ode on Lagos
“Nwilo writes with a barefaced humorous slant; yet his writings are mostly reflective of certain glaring aspects of our humanity.”
Uche Peter Umez, author of The Runaway Hero
