An Arik airline security personnel arrested a teenager at the Murtala Muhammad airport Lagos for allegedly sneaking into the airline’s wheels,Mr Ola Adebanji the airline’s spokesperson told reporters that when the airline touched down at the domestic wing of Murtala Muhammad airport,the unidentified male teenager jumped out of the aircraft main wheel.
Mr Adebanji the airline’s spokesperson said; “the pilot of arik air flight w3 544,departing from benin airport to Lagos reported to the control tower of the presence of a boy in the bush about 200m to 300m at the end of runway 23.
“The control tower told the captain they were going to send security men to the place to arrest the boy.
As the captain was making his final turn ,preparatory to take-off, a cabin crew called his attention to the claim of seeing some boy run towards the plane by some passengers .
The officer confirmed that they observed and informed the control tower which responded and sent a patrol team to arrest the boy.
Arik airline’s image -maker further stated that the captain again reported to the control tower and was informed that the situation was under control and that he had been cleared for take-off.
On arriving Lagos airport,the boy who had sneaked into the aircraft main wheel ,jumped out and was arrested by Arik personnel and handed over to FAAN security.
Mr Ola Adebanji who was the personnel said that Arik’s management expressed shock over the incident and wondered how the teenage boy beat the aviation security personnel at the Benin airport to get to the runway
Arik Air’s managing director, Chris Ndule appealed to FAAN to immediately address the problem.
Ndule said “we are appealing to the management of FAAN to immediately address the problem”
