Sahara Foundation, Chapel Hill Denham, Chicken Republic, Zaron, Cast of Lekki wives and more walked against cancer at the 4th exquisite magazine against cancer walk in Lagos on the 6th of september 2014.
The Exquisite Magazine against Cancer Walk, EMAC held to increase the awareness for cervical, breast and prostate cancer and also provide FREE Screening was on Saturday the 6th of Sept.The walk gave Exquisite Magazine and it’s partners the opportunity toscreen many Nigerians free of charge, which will help in detectingpeople who have early stages of cervical cancer.
The EMAC walk raised more awareness for cervical cancer and highlighted the importance ofearly detection and treatment. Hundreds of men and women turned upto walk against cancer and will be screened free of charge for cervical,breast and prostate cancer. Tewa Onasanya the editor in chief of exquisite magazine states that “we are always so happy that our goal to raise awareness and get more and more people screened was fulfilled today.
We aim to continue to raise more awareness for these cancers and highlight the importance of early detection via regular screening”.
Free screenings are currently being done at partner clinics in Surulere, Alagbado, Ajah, Ikeja and Yaba
The Aim is to continue to increase the awareness for:
– Cervical cancer (the only cancer with a pre cancerous stage) which kills one woman every hour in Nigeria
– Breast cancer which kills a woman every minute and
– Prostate cancer where eight in ten black men will be affected in their lifetime.’’
