Solid Star seems to be on that mission to gift his fans till they can hold it no further, because there is no better explanation seeing all he has been on to in recent times. This new effort is particularly a smash in its entirety. Gosh!
With obvious Jamaican patois footprints, heavy sounds, largely moving slowly but purposefully, and creating a superb crescendo; “My Body” is fashioned for the reggae-obsessed audience, although hugely drawing African influences from the beats to the delivery and all that. It is something like a Marvelous Benjy or BlackFace (in their heydays) plus a Tuface Idibia collab, add a little of Baba Fryo or someone with that Ajegunle type flavor and you aren’t far off.
But this is none of those; this is Solid Star, the fast-rising Isoko guy with a penchant for great music and sublime chart toppers. Timaya lends a great hand on this, helping the youngster fly this one to a considerable altitude. This is a bumper studio effort, clear confident vocals, great performance, not to forget the groovy guitar strings underneath that help liven the sound of things here and there. Strong hit potentials lie in this given the right push.
Listen and rate, a Hit or a Miss?
