The head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis arrived in Kenya today. His arrival kicks off a tour of three African countries spanning Kenya, Uganda and the Central African Republic.
It is the Pope’s first visit to the African continent and comes just after his tour of South America.
Pope Francis spoke in Nairobi, the Kenyan capital today, where he touched on the need for peace and forgiveness.
“To the extent that our societies experience divisions, whether ethnic, religious or economic, all men and women of good will are called to work for reconciliation and peace, forgiveness and healing,” Pope Francis said.
He’ll likely be speaking on the same theme of peace and tolerance especially in Central African Republic currently experiencing religious violence.
