Reports from the Nigerian Army indicate that troops invaded a Boko Haram Camp yesterday and killed 30 terrorists in the offensive. 338 people were also reportedly rescued from a Boko Haram camp near Sambisa forest.
Troops from the 28 Task Force Brigade deployed to Bitta and Pridang launched “a successful raid on suspected Boko Haram terrorists camps at Bulajilin and Manawashe villages along Bita and Damboa road at the fringes of Sambisa forest on Tuesday”
“Troops also recovered arms and ammunitions during the raid operation which include 1 General Purpose Machine Gun and 2 Dane Guns, 150 rounds of 7.62mm (NATO), 6 boxes of 7.62mm (NATO) and 3 cutlasses,” the army said.
In a week where Boko Haram has carried out several hit and run attacks in North Eastern Nigeria, today’s report from the Army provides a glimmer of hope and suggests that perhaps the Army can bring an end to terrorism.
