At a press conference on Thursday, NASA has announced the discovery of Kepler-462b, 60% bigger than our Earth bears a close resemblance to our planet
Kepler-462b is described as being within a “habitable zone”. Earth’s distant cousin is estimated to be 1,400 light years from the earth.
NASA’s Jon Jenkins said on Thursday; “It’s awe-inspiring to consider that this planet has spent 6 billion years in the habitable zone of its star; longer than Earth. That’s substantial opportunity for life to arise, should all the necessary ingredients and conditions for life exist on this planet.”
