Eva is the Queen Bee for this new cut. Nothing describes her more.
Olamide has made some monstrous materials that posterity will never forget him for. Also, he has made some lame ass ones, songs like his most recent Don Jazzy-collaborated “Skelembe” would never be fitting for the beast image we’ve come to know him for. Never ever.
We all know who Sarkodie is, mean ass, hardly needing any introductions, so we move on. Eva, take out a few Label-Management insufficiencies, is fit to be called one of Nigeria’s finest females on the rap category of things. You can take this to the bank.
“Deaf and Dumb” is massive, with real banging hiphop beats, brilliantly-made, although nothing new from the female rapper. In my opinion, the splendor of the beats and production serve its purpose more on this cross-border collaboration, with Sarks coming just in time to stick the dagger in the heart of things or did he say “holding a knife and stabbing jaw” or something? Whatever. This is goodness to our rap lists for 2014 anyways, and we surely can’t wait for Eva’s “1960”, the much talked-about album of hers that looks set to hit the stores in a minute.
The song is jamming. Ola is daring, throwing in some innuendo aimed at 9ice and Toni along the line, calling his haters m*fos who will (or can) do nothing upon seeing him and his goons on the streets. Sarks is menacing, untamed and all that as he flips between English, Pidgin and some Ghana lingo. Eva is… *pauses*, how best do we define how well this lady holds her own right in front of two heavyweights? Oops! One thing though, she is clinical. Very clinical and direct in her approach, typical ‘Lil Kim-Nicki Minajish’ type wreck, what she deposits here. Astounding effort.
Listen and rate, a Hit or a Miss?
