The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Lamorde has been relieved of his duties. Ibrahim Lamorde has faced criticism in recent times and allegations of money laundering and rumors of investigation.
The EFCC was largely comatose under Lamorde’s leadership and it is thought he has been replaced to strategically reposition the anticorruption agency in line with President Buhari’s promise to prosecute corrupt public officials.
Lamorde has reportedly been replaced by Ibrahim Magu, a senior official at the EFCC.
