Reports went round few days ago that the last election that brought in David Mark to the upper chambers representing Benue South Senatorial district has been nullified.
The former senate president has expressed confidence in winning the nullified election again if and when a rerun election is conducted.
According to Vanguard Newspaper, Mark disclosed that he was ready and confident of defeating APC Senatorial candidate for Benue South, Daniel Onjeh, who challenged his victory at the tribunal.
In a statement by Mark’s Media Assistant, Paul Mumeh, the Senator said he believed that he won the election convincingly, and has no doubt that his constituents would turn out to vote for him again.
“What ever the situation may be, one thing I know is that my people are solidly behind me . They also appreciate the fact that I have done more than enough to lift up Idoma nation to a position of eminence in the contemporary political history of Nigeria,” the statement read.
Continuing, Mark said, ‘I won the election clean and clear. If we go back to the polls 100 times , I will still win convincingly.”
Markudi court of appeal nullified David Mark’s election and order for a re-run within 90 days.
