On Saturday October 24th, 2015 Genevieve PinkBall Foundation (GPF) in conjunction with Medplus held its annual Walk/ Run/ Cycle event to raise awareness for Breast Cancer. The exercise took place at the Church of Divine Mercy, Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.
Friends and supporters of GPF converged at 7am to begin the workout session, which took the route of Ikoyi bridge- Falomo. In backing of the campaign were musicians Sound Sultan, Saeon and Timi Dakolo, Celebrity Stylist Jane Michael and Comedian Julius Agwu. Fitness instructors Seyi, Shaddams and Fab gave participants a brief introduction of the event purpose, followed by warm- up exercises to set the mood. There were three large groups that underwent the challenge as a number of people came out to show their support.
Media and business partners of the campaign included Pulse, Ono Bello, GlamBrand Agency, Style Vitae, Kamdora, Podozi.com and Bella Naija. Mall For Africa.com contributed tremendously by distributing pink water bottle, power banks, hand fans, pens and key chains. Zesty Juice, Sweet Kiwi, Wilson Juice Co, Simply natural were all on hand to keep participants hydrated with various flavoured smoothies, fresh juices and bottled water. The CEO of Medplus, Joke Bakare was “very happy” to be partnering with GFP for a wonderful cause.
