Earlier today, an Abuja bound Medview Airlines Boeing aircraft with scores of passengers on board made an emergency return to the domestic wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport 2, Ikeja, Lagos.
The development we understood is as a result of technical faults identified as pressurization problem about 8,000 feet above sea level.
The pressurization problem it was learnt affected the cooling system of the aircraft. The development a source hinted prompted the Pilot to brief the passengers on board before initiating safety emergency procedure of returning to the aerodrome of take – off otherwise known in aviation par lance as air return.
Air return is a standard safety procedure when the pilots return to the airport the aircraft took off from if there is any observation of technical issues with the aircraft. According to aviation experts, the air return initiative by the pilot was considered as a standard operating procedure by the crew to get the aircraft to safety rather than continuing with the flight.
