Chris Brown probably feels as though he can’t catch a break right now!
On the heels of him completing a 95-day stint in anger management rehab, he showed up to court on Friday for a probation progress hearing, and the judge ordered him back to rehab until his assault trial begins in Washington D.C. on April 17th.
According to court doctors, he has also been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
The facility writes, “Mr. Brown became aggressive and acted out physically due to his untreated mental health disorder, severe sleep deprivation, inappropriate self-medicating and untreated PTSD.” They never explain the cause of the PTSD. The letter also says Chris was diagnosed with Bipolar II.
The letter says Chris is on meds for the bipolar and other conditions.
Chris has learned various relaxation exercises, according to the letter, and he’s tested negative for drugs, including weed, during his stay.
According to WebMD:
Bipolar II disorder (pronounced “bipolar two”) is a form of mental illness. Bipolar II is similar to bipolar I disorder, with moods cycling between high and low over time.
However, in bipolar II disorder, the “up” moods never reach full-on mania. The less-intense elevated moods in bipolar II disorder are called hypomanic episodes, or hypomania.
A person affected by bipolar II disorder has had at least one hypomanic episode in life. Most people with bipolar II disorder also suffer from episodes of depression. This is where the term “manic depression” comes from.
In between episodes of hypomania and depression, many people with bipolar II disorder live normal lives.
On the positive side, it’s good seeing Chris continue to make progress and getting help the right way. So many people suffer from mental illnesses and rather than seek professional help, they aggravate an already bad situation by either ignoring it, self-medicating, or hurting themselves. Now that he’s being treated properly, it is likely that he will stay out of trouble.
Taking to Twitter, Chris reacted to the news of having to return to rehab by tweeting out:
Never really goes the way u plan. #LIFE
In his own words, “it can get ugly before it gets beautiful.”
