The world’s most populous country has reversed one of its oldest population control policies after it announced
that it would now allow families have more than a child.
The Chinese government’s policy turnaround has come due to fears of an aging population and has now relaxed the policy to allow families have two children.
Fears continue to mount over the Chinese economy directly as a result of the inability of the government to stop the falling stock prices as the Chinese stock exchange recorded plunges as low as 8%.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has been forced to display he has a handle on China’s problems and a meeting of the ruling party agreed to increase the number of children per family to two.
