Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom on Tuesday survived a ghastly auto crash, when his convoy was involved in an accident.
A commercial Toyota car rammed into the governor’s convoy on his way from Zaki Biam.
The Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr Terver Akase, said the accident occurred between Abakwa and Adi in Buruku at about 4:30 pm. He said the car veered off its lane and hit the Nigeria Union of Journalists’ bus which was part of the Governor’s convoy.
The state NUJ’s Chairman, Comrade Kris Atsaka, who was on the bus also sustained minor injuries, while an occupant of the Carina car sustained head injuries and was taken to hospital on the directive of the Governor. No life was lost.
