The best element to album launch parties isn’t the open bar or the A-list attendees, but the music. No wonder, a good tracklist like that of DJ Spinall’s ‘My Story’ album had everyone glued to the dance floor while dancing the night away. For many, it was a night of turntable mixes, fun games and pool party, as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated DJs hosted a star-studded album launch party that brought the City of Lagos to a stand still.
Although the invites were meant for a selected few, celebrities like Ice Prince, Phyno, Wande Coal, Lynxxx, Orezi, Tee-Y mix, Lil Kesh, Viktoh, Adekunle Gold, Swanky Jerry, DJ Jimmy Jatt, Ehiz, Olu Maintain among other industry greats stormed the album party tagged, ‘TheCrazyAzzParty’.
In a chat with some celebrities at the event, everyone was excited to be part of the album launch and indeed the party. They said, Sodamola Oluseye Desmond aka The Cap has indeed paid his dues in the industry, adding that he deserves nothing more but their support and encouragement to do more.
Recall that Spinall is the first Nigerian DJ to be endorsed by any brand in Africa and the first African DJ to tour in the United States. DJ Spinall started calling himself Spinall in 2003 before he was signed to Mavin Records in 2013 and later took his exit from the label. In January 2014, he was signed by State of Mind Entertainment, owned by the entertainment savvy ex-banker, Tobi Sanni Daniel.
