Like the legendary American music producer, OBJ Jezreel contributed in no small measures to the growth of hip-hop genre and artistes in Nigeria’s music industry. Not only as a singer, but also as a beat maker and producer. OJB worked with most of the topplayers in the industry, but we decided to bring you just five out of the endless list:
2BABA
Innocent Idibia popularly known as 2Face Idibia or 2Baba these days is one of Nigeria’s most respected Nigerian artist today and his story can not be told without including OJB Jezreel to it.
Shortly after 2face departed from the hit group, Plantashion Boiz, he sought the production prowess of OJB Jezreel who was the hottest music producer in the country at the time for his highly anticipated debut album.
A huge success was recorded setting a yet to be beaten record not just in Nigeria but in Africa! 10million copies in Nigeria alone and 8million copies internationally.
WIZKID
Ayo Balogun popularly known as Wizkid is one of Africa’s hottest artist right now and he continues to break boundaries and sell Africa to the world.
Like 2Face Idibia, his story can’t be shared without giving OJB the proper credit he deserves.
Though the pop star became famous after he was signed on to Banky W’s co-owned music label, Empire Mates Entertainment, OJB revealed that he discovered his talent and even met with Wizkid’s parents to convince them to allow him pursue a career in music.
D’BANJ
Talk about one of the biggest name in Nigerian entertainment today and the name Dapo Oyebanjo popularly known by his stage name D’banj is not far from the mouth.
Before the rise of Mo’hits, D’Banj released his first set of songs “Kiss Me Again” ft. Ruggedman, “One More Time” and “Gba Si Be” ft. Abounce onOJB’s Silver Tones’ imprint.

4. DURELLA
Oluwadamilare Okulaja, popularly known as Durella is a Nigerian recording artist, performer, songwriter and businessman.
Durella whose style was similar to D’Banj’s met with OJB for the production of his hit single ‘Wiskolo Wiska’ a hard hitting club track.
The song was Durella’s breakout song and it received massive play and shot Durella to the top at the time. The song was produced by none other than OJB.
5. RUGGED MAN
Michael Stephens, stage name Ruggedman, born on September 20 in Ohafia, Abia State, is a Nigerian rapper and like the rest of the music stas on this list, his story can not be told without mentioning OJB.
Rugged Man who had been in the underground scene for years met with OJB at his Silver Point Studios to record the classic ‘Ehen’ diss track featuring Nomoreloss.
Ruggedman’s debut album titled ‘Thy Album Come’ featured production fromOJB and other Silver Point associate producers.
